Why you should also try ITGlue and start loving your JOB.
Comentarios: My overall experience has always been better with ITGlue. As I am working for an MSP, I rely a lot on ITGlue for recording and accessing data/documentation.
Puntos a favor:
As a day-to-day user of ITGlue, in both using existing Data and documenting new data, I find it easy to work with ITGlue. I also like their efforts in merging AI capabilities to make it interesting and less and less painful to manage. I have been using Datto SaaS integration and I am happy to see they have made improvements to it and now we can see more information than before. This means they are heading in the right direction and listening to feedback. Also, I highly appreciate them bringing in Secure Credential Sharing into ITGlue, which is a must for MSPs. Now we can stop depending on third-party solutions and share credentials with peace of mind.
Contras:
I believe NetworkGlue is a feature that should be built into standard ITGlue, instead of selling it separately. Again, this is just my idea.
Why should you pick IT Glue over anything else? Is it worth it?
Comentarios: Apart from the significant pros I have mentioned above, we recently started using IT Glue check lists to eliminate the requirement of painfully maintaining documents especially when we are doing new users/leavers or other work that requires sustaining a checklist.
Puntos a favor:
I like how it integrates with almost all of the other systems used by MSPs across the globe, bringing all information into a single space for easy visibility and management.I like how it lets you link flexible assets with each other. For example, if you add an application to ITGlue, you can connect all related documents and configuration items to that specific application. So, when someone looks at it, at a glance they get a picture of what else is linked with it without scratching their head or wasting time to figure out related items. Also, I like how it lets control access to certain information. You can decide who has access to certain information. This is an essential feature in the MSP space when security is a major concern because not everybody needs access to everything.
Contras:
I would like to see an improved version of Datto SaaS integration rather than just displaying a summary of the SaaS backups on the landing page for each client.
Why I left the ITGlue family
Comentarios: In the long run, I believe ITGlue was not a good partner for us
Puntos a favor:
In the beginning, it really forced upon us a culture of creating useful documentation.
Contras:
ITGlue did help my business with documentation and business practices in the beginning. But, as my company matured, I questioned its value of not being fully enlisted in the Kaseya ecosystem, where most development went toward. Kaseya's business practices became apparent - lots of talk/promises with minimal action. It might be different if I entirely bought into the Kaseya ecosystem, but that was not my experience. However, I am still getting notices concerning items I voted on within the ideas pages with hundreds of upvotes (which many have had for over 5 years) and little to no action taken against these items. Also, in many cases, the ITGlue staffers argue against the use cases people propose, saying that is not how it is done but, at the same time, not offering any feasible workarounds.Additionally, Kaseya's approach, as well as respect toward the community, is severely lacking. Just ask many well-respected security vendors who have spoken up about issues/concerns and the backlash/punishment they have received in return. This is not how the MSP community works. If you are fully committed to the Kaseya ecosystem, this might be a different story; but it's not how I have chosen to do business, and I do not believe they are true partners of mine. Your experience may differ, but the many people I have talked to all share similar stories.
Great product!
Comentarios: My overall experience with IT Glue has been positive due to its ability to centralize and organize documentation effectively. It offers powerful features like relationship mapping, integrations with PSA/RMM tools, and the ability to track and manage passwords securely. These features help streamline operations and improve team collaboration.
Puntos a favor:
What I liked most about IT Glue is its ability to centralize documentation, making it easy to access and manage critical information in one place. Its relationship mapping feature stands out, offering a clear view of how different assets and systems are interconnected. The secure password management system is another key benefit, ensuring sensitive information is stored safely. IT Glue’s seamless integration with PSA and RMM tools enhances workflow efficiency, saving time by streamlining processes. Additionally, the platform's version control and audit logs provide valuable accountability and traceability, making it a powerful tool for IT teams.
Contras:
If I had to put down a con I guess it would be there is a slight learning curve on the administration side.
Best Asset Management System I've Used
Comentarios: IT Glue solves many problems for us daily. It primary use for us is Password and Asset management. Without IT Glue we would have no single place to go when searching for information on our clients, their locations, users, ISPs, telcos, servers, firewalls, etc. IT Glue houses all of the critical information that keeps ours and our client's business running.
Puntos a favor:
IT Glue is an excellent platform that is easy to use and quite customizable. Most importantly, it is fast and reliable. We have experienced very few outages over the years with ITG and with their automated offline backup, we were able to continue operations with minimal impact.
Contras:
While one of it's strengths, the simplicity of ITG can also be a weakness. I would like to see more controls implemented in user permissions and access. As well, it would be great to be able to toggle certain features on/off completely if they are not used.
One stop shop for your Knowledge Base needs.
Comentarios: Since implementation, our staff has become more organized with our password management, knowledge base / document creation, and vendor management. We constantly see techs answer questions to other staff members regarding customer and vendor info with "It's in IT Glue." So long as everyone is onboard with putting the info in the platform, it saves time of having to reach out to specific resources for a peice of information.
Puntos a favor:
My favorite function of IT Glue is the fact that we're able to store many forms of information on the platform, along with consume information from various sources, in-turn saving time in gathering relevant information on our clients and infrastructure.
Contras:
The organization can be a little much, but I think it's just due to the sheer number of things you can do with the platform. We discover new things with IT Glue frequently, and it sometimes requires a single resource to manage how the platform should be used in the organization, or at least lay down some groundwork and rules for staff to follow so data can be populated effectively.

The flagship IT Documentation software
Comentarios: Glue is instrumental in our department's success. It replaced a lot of chaotic password management and has given us a lot of peace of mind to handle disaster recovery and day to day management. We are very happy with it and will likely continue using it for many years.
Puntos a favor:
IT glue gives you a flexible way to manage your IT documentation. While some edge scenarios can be cumbersome, the fact is that it is the only platform we have tried (short of a fully customized Sharepoint setup) that is completely flexible to let us build the assets the way we want to without railroading us.
Contras:
I feel like the pace of development has slowed significantly since the Kaseya acquisition and the focus is now on upselling other Kaseya products that we have no use for. However, new features are still coming out. I would also like to see an alternative way to handle asset management besides 'Configurations' or having to run a secondary PSA just to handle ITAM.
ITGlue: Multifunctional and Very Easy to Use
Puntos a favor:
ITGlue is so multifunctional that it can help centralize the storage of your documents, SOPs, Passwords and such. It also helps in storing asset and vendor info. Collaboration is also simplified in this platform so even if your colleagues is from another country, you are sure that you will be able to share with them the info they need in a very secure manner.
Contras:
The platform can do better when it comes to personalization such as letting the admins personalize the welcome email they send to their new users. Access permissions can be expanded to have a much customized access delegations to every user.
A great platform for all your documentation needs
Puntos a favor:
IT Glue has been fundamental to improving our documentation within our IT environment, it allows us to standardise our documentation and makes it easy with integrations to provide automated documentation that our service desk can use
Contras:
Sometimes can be slow to add features as I've seen previously but when features are added a lot of thought has generally been placed in them
Never looked back after switching to IT Glue
Comentarios: IT Glue has been a tremendous add to our stack.
Puntos a favor:
- Integration with our RMM and PSA works seamlessly - Flexible assets that are ready for import have a great amount of coverage. - Reputation offers a way to motivate employees to engage with documentation
Contras:
- There is not much I don't like about IT Glue, but if I had to choose something it would be the ability to have a templatized environment for different typed of clients.
ITGlue Review
Puntos a favor:
I like that there are lots of integrations.
Contras:
I don't have anything that I don't like about ITGlue.
Kaseya's IT Glue - using it since 2018
Comentarios: Overall I've been very happy with IT Glue. I was concerned when Kaseya acquired it late in 2018, after I'd only had it for less than 3 months. But it was fine. One really cool feature I learned much later: when another MSP using IT Glue loses a client to us, or we to them, we use a feature called GlueConnect to have/give access to that client's data. We then create our own internal entry and keep the records we want (or all). Oh yeah, and IT Glue's integration with Autotask PSA automatically creates an organization when we create a new account in the PSA. That's handier than you'd think. No more getting in the field and realizing nobody in the team has created the org in IT Glue yet, leaving you to note passwords in your phone til later!
Puntos a favor:
It's feature packed, has lots of integrations, is secure, useful mobile app I use A LOT, the MyGlue add on is great for our clients to essentially have a secure "IT binder" that both of us update and we can share step by step instructions for various processes through the documentation section. There's a lot of features we're not using and I feel I'm barely scratching the surface of what I can do.
Contras:
Since signing up for the KaseyaOne interface, the mobile app, on Android anyway, is a little bit more painful to log into. It prompts to login with KaseyaOne. If I do so it will open a browser for credentials, then open the web version of IT Glue on my phone, which is clunky on my small screen, cutting off fields in the password section I use most. I have to remember to X out of that KaseyaOne prompt, then click "not now" on the sign in page, which takes me to the original sign in interface of the app where I can use fingerprint or face detection. This boils down to a couple of quick taps before using the app. It's just something I find a little annoying that can be fine tuned by the company.
Useful tool needing minor fixes
Comentarios: IT Glue allows us to save our clients' passwords, SOP, and site information. Because of it, the console is an essential tool in our product lineup. When a user forgets a password, when we need an admin password, or looking up procedures for specific problems, IT Glue is the first place we look.
Puntos a favor:
The most valuable part of ITGlue is its intended function. It stores passwords, documents, and other mission-critical information. Their competitors' products are similar. However, some of them have been suffering from security compromises.
Contras:
There are a couple of things that have hindered my experience:-The quick search text input does not clear when switching between different searches (specifically from password quicksearch to organization quick search).- Searching in the documents only searches the documents in the current folder instead of the content in all the folders. Because of this, my company does not use the folder feature.- Password quick search results menu needs improved user feedback. When clicking the copy field button, there is no pop-up like when using the usual console. It leaves the user unsure whether the button worked.- The copy button takes a while to apply the copied field to the clipboard. I have experienced the copy failed message much more than I would like using this product.
The Glue that holds the team together :)
Comentarios: We have managed to combine a central area with clear documentation and asset and password access. Before we were busy fools hunting for information and saving information in lots of different ways. IT Glue has streamlined this providing ease of use and consistency for our day to day operations and helped to support clients quicker and more efficiently.
Puntos a favor:
IT Glue is a breeze to implement. The most beneficial aspect of the product is the integrations by far. Being able to sync information and map key aspects of data to both devices and contacts is key for the day to day success of our support. Before using the product technicians would spend too much time on tickets hunting for information. Now all the information they could possibly need is at their fingertips. It really is the Glue that ties these portals together.
Contras:
The fact that documents do not have versioning. Users of the documents if edited have no way to roll back a document or see what attributes have ben changed and by which user.
IT Glue is the master domain of documentation
Puntos a favor:
IT glue is the master domain for our documentation and helps with onboarding new technicians quickly and easily. Before IT Glue we used OneNote and it was very cumbersome and not secure. This is a much better solution!
Contras:
The only thing I can think of is the outages sometimes with no access to the cloud. Need an offline version
Safe storage for all your important passwords
Puntos a favor:
Having a safe offsite location that we can all access at different levels of access for all our critical passwords, contact data, disaster recovery planning and more is such a fundamental key part of any IT infrastructure. IT Glue provides exactly that, and does it very well.
Contras:
It is not the cheapest solution but its the best for a reason and you'll be glad you used it if the unthinkable happens and you find yourself in disaster recovery scenario

ITG is good for documentation
Comentarios: So far we're pleased with ITG. No major complaints after almost 3 years.
Puntos a favor:
Easy to use, wide variety of integration options
Contras:
The flexible assets feature for billing could use some improvements.
IT Glue is needed for everyone!
Comentarios: Our account manager is awesome and is very responsive with any and all my questions. It has helped us with lost time trying to remember what documentation is where or passwords for that matter. It is a go to spot that our whole team uses . I am very happy with this solution and am at a point we are now going to offer MyGlue to our clients .
Puntos a favor:
I like the granularity of permissions, the auditing it has, and how much more productive our team is have one location to go for passwords, how tos, licensing, etc. We especially like the OTPs in the passwords because then we do not have to track down who has what MFA and can get in easily.
Contras:
Setting up ITG was somewhat difficult and however once you get the feel for it , it starts to make more sense. once you are using it
Great Password Manager
Comentarios: Overall, I am very happy with IT Glue and would recommend it to almost anyone.
Puntos a favor:
I really like how easy and intuitive it is to use. The version history has saved me quite a few times with accidental clicking. The ability to offer it to our clients with a replacement to Last Pass is a huge value added to our services.
Contras:
The searching in the documents section doesn't search inside of folders which is annoying. Also, the check all and then change permissions is hidden and someone lacking in options. Support is also just so-so. Most of the time they can't reproduce my issue and then kind of drop it.
Easy Use
Comentarios: Over this product is a game changer with the kind of data that we have to track and keep up with.
Puntos a favor:
Software is easy to get around in and find things as long as you take the time to set things up correctly that works for you
Contras:
Some times the searches are a little slow, but not all the time.
IT Glue - Putting the IT in "It Just Works!"
Comentarios: Phenomenal. The search feature among folders may sound harsh, but that is truly the ONLY gripe I have had with IT Glue. I never heard of it before I started using it, but now I don't think I will be able to work anywhere else without it. It is that important to my daily workflow.
Puntos a favor:
The encrypted password storage and the features of this storage are impeccable. Truly couldn't ask for a more efficient and easier-to-user tool that makes my organization's work processes significantly easier to manage. The search functions among tenants and passwords make using this tool necessary, rather than "just another option amongst all the other password storage software."
Contras:
I've mentioned it previously in my review, but I will mention it again here. Searching Documents by their name/title - specifically if those documents are within folders for organizational use - is next to impossible. Since the search function is so key to the ease and efficiencies we have found by using this product, the fact that folders complicate this feature has forced us to remove any and all folders. Why spend time paging through folders trying to remember what categorical property we assigned it, when we can use the search bar and narrow the options down to 10 or less options?
Great platform
Comentarios: ITGlue is a fantastic tool that we truly haven't had many issues with. We are an MSP, so we rely on the platform for keeping device configs, passwords, user docuemtnation, company SOPs etc for each and every client. Its really easy to find everything, update and share. It also integrates with a lot of the other Kaseya / Datto products, so this combined it all into an 'almost' single pane of glass.
Puntos a favor:
Its a straightforward interface, easy to navigate and update. Every aspects can be secured and shared with only those who need access.
Contras:
Support is OK, could be better in terms of knowledge and speed of resolutions
ITGlue has transformed our ability to accurately document our clients' IT infrastructure.
Puntos a favor:
The ability to tag different items and configurations within ITGlue allows us to document all of the impacted components in an IT system. For example, we can document the virtualization environment for a client by tagging the physical hypervisors, the virtualization license, the VMs that are hosted on the hypervisors, the credentials used to access the hypervisors and the virtualization environment, etc. This has greatly reduced the time needed to support our clients. I also like the integrations with ConnectWise and Kaseya.
Contras:
There isn't much that I can say about ITGlue that is negative. I would like the ability to export a runbook for a client into PDF. I know they are working on this feature but it isn't available yet.
Documentation is Essential
Comentarios: Overall, we've been happy with IT Glue. The service desk use it daily, and it's a product I'd recommend to startup IT companies who need a documentation solution in place.
Puntos a favor:
Being able to segment customers' documentation of assets has been extremely useful for all departments within the company. It's helped with our productivity and customer satisfaction to retain the information when/ if requested quickly.
Contras:
The ability to sync customer products or the ability to pull them from agreements via 3rd party PSA's doesn't seem to be there. We had to manually create a checklist of what they have and don't have from our stack, but it's not manageable as we continue to grow.
