Comentarios: Customer support is great. This is a good company. They aren’t the cheapest. And they aren’t the most expensive. I think the extra cost is worth it to ensure compliance.
Puntos a favor:
Gusto is easy and straightforward to use. But it doesn’t sacrifice accuracy for ease. What I like most about Gusto is that it makes it easy for small businesses to be legally compliant with complicated wage laws across jurisdictions. I haven’t found a legal error yet — and I can’t say that about any other payroll software or service I’ve worked with over the last 15 years.
Contras:
I wish the price didn’t jump up so much for time clock feature. Getting clients to use the integrated time clock can be a challenge, and it creates unnecessary problems. It should be included in the base fee.

Comentarios: Positive and easy to use. The customer service team is quick to respond to call request and their goal is to provide solutions to must needed challenges when it come to your comp and payroll.

Gusto allows for individual employee engagement which provides efficiency for the HR team while allowing an autonomous management of personal details such as PTO request, pay stubs, downloading W2, review process, hiring database and onboarding.
Contras:
Limited access to individual managers unless an admin.

Comentarios: I am now facing legal action due to Gusto's failure to properly file payroll taxes. Despite months of trying to get in touch with them, I have been unable to access any reports or history showing what taxes were paid. Every time I reach out, I’m told that someone is ‘working on it,’ but no actual help or resolution has been provided. This has been an incredibly stressful situation, and their lack of transparency and accountability has put my business in a very dangerous legal position. I strongly advise against using Gusto for any payroll services if you're relying on them for accuracy and compliance.

Mucho Gusto con Gusto
Comentarios: After more than two years of using Gusto as my primary payroll tool, my experience has been quite smooth and efficient, especially when managing my store's employee finances and payments. I've been able to take full advantage of this platform's automated functionalities, such as automatic salary calculation, tax filing and payment, and employee benefits management, which has saved me a lot of time and minimized errors. However, as my business has grown, I've felt that costs have increased since pricing is per employee. Overall, my experience with the software has allowed me to have frictionless payroll management, which has been key to business growth, although I might be evaluating options to better manage costs in the long run.

What I like most about Gusto is its comprehensive approach, as it can combine ease of use with automated payroll and tax management. Comentarios: Overall, I have had a positive experience using Gusto. It has really simplified a lot of the HR elements for me and has allowed us to remain organized throughout. All in all, I like the product.

As a startup business executive, Gusto has been excellent in simplifying the payroll and HR processes. It has made payroll effortless, handling taxes, benefits, and employee payments in a way that's easy to manage. I also want to share another highlight of Gusto, and that is its onboarding experience. New hires can enter their information and sign documents digitally, which saves time and keeps everything organized from day one.
Contras:
Perhaps one of the bigger challenges with Gusto is its limited customization options. While it does cover the basics well, if your organization has unique payroll or benefit requirements, it can be difficult to tailor the platform to meet those needs.

Great product, great service
Comentarios: We've been using Gusto for 5 years now for payroll and benefits. It's extremely easy to use, and every time we've run into issues with state regulations or similar, we've been able to talk to a very knowledgable rep to get it sorted out. Even stuff down to the city/county level -- I didn't expect that.

Cheap, really easy to use, and the best customer support staff of any software I've ever used.
Contras:
Nothing -- it's been great. No complaints.

Easy to use and lots of functionality
Comentarios: It's great. I'm able to see my time, PTO, paystubs, important documents, and "rainy day fund" within a minute.

Versatility and ease of use. I can do everything I need to do with the base product.
Contras:
The cost of some of the features is too high. I would use more features is some of them were more affordable.

Good choice for payroll & benefits for small companies
Comentarios: We used them as a payroll & benefits provider for a company with about a dozen employees and contractors.
Puntos a favor:
It was pretty easy to make payroll adjustments for both W2 employees and contractors. The health benefits offering is very helpful for small companies.
Contras:
When onboarding a new employee, they don't handle any of the paperwork- meaning a lot of manual time has to be spent working on that.

A Simplified HR Solution

Foundational HR Tools for the Little Guys
Comentarios: Excellent! I love their customer service, I love that they keep me aware of what's going on in the world of HR/Payroll laws. I love that they helped find retirement and heath care options for my employees so that I can grow the benefits to my folks! I'm obviously a big fan of what these guys are doing.
Puntos a favor:
These guys make me compliant with the evolving landscape of HR and payroll without distracting me from the core functions of my small business. They made on-boarding from my old payroll system easy. They found mistakes I'd made and helped me to correct them so even my tax history was compliant. Their customer service is excellent and I'm incredibly pleased with their Homebase integration. Super clean!
Contras:
While the onboarding was much smoother than I anticipated, it was still a bit more cumbersome than described. It's definitely a hands-on process.
Best payroll company out there
Comentarios: Hands down the best and most cost-effective payroll bureau I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. I will not only recommend it to clients that don't have a payroll service but I will recommend it over any other payroll service there is essentially. It's way cheaper and way easier to use. I also have seen less mistakes then pay checks or ADP as I have worked with their payroll reports quite often when doing bookkeeping

We used to do around payroll through a company called pay soft.. or ProPay maybe another name for it. The program was decent a little bit cumbersome and the check stock was extremely expensive. They did their own payroll as a bureau. As a result of having their own proprietary software built they also sold it which was overpriced and in the long run didn't make us money. Just being a recommendation agency essentially and controlling if you ever clients payroll through gusto it's made us more money and they offer way more than ADP or paychecks ever has offered us.
Contras:
There's not much I don't like about this software besides maybe the fact that it isn't really a software that you download it's an internet interface so if you're internet somehow becomes unreachable or it's down you can't really print out checks with proper taxes withheld. This is An occurrence few and far between and can always be advanced and then paid back once you can access it again. A desktop GUI that just calls in the website would be a handy tool for owners and accountants to be able to take more effort into their own hands on payroll

Comentarios: Overall, 7 out of 10, could be better. It's better than most, but it needs to be better.

-It's web based -one login for staff for access to all clients. -MFA ability for each login -ability to control which clietns assigned to which login. - like other payroll engines, it does automatic paymetns (immediately) and automatic filings - multiple reports available, quarterly/monthly/yearly, etc. - tracks PTO, SIck, and auto generates if needed, - great integration with Tsheets for time clock
Contras:
There is no ONE consolidated report for all clients on a custom period. EG, if I wanted a 1st quarter payroll report, with selected clients on each row of the report, and the columns having the headings for say, different data points like "gross payroll, net pay, 401K deferred, 401K roth, IL state tax paid, 941 done?" then that style of report is ONLY available if you pull that report down client by client, NOT for all clients or selected clients as a consolidated report. Email alerts are not there for specific things, like if a client exceeds a payrol amount or if a large net reimbursement check is done. There is NO mobile app. There is NO standard custom 401K year end "Annual census" report which ties in all the data points for a 5500 filing. Gusto also competes with providers for health insurance and 401K. Financial advisors like me only want Gusto to do the payroll part, not compete with us on the benefits part.

Gusto has worked well for our law office
Comentarios: I considered several different options for payroll/HR management before settling on Gusto. I was a bit hesitant to choose Gusto, due to it being a bit more expensive than other options. However, the product has worked very well. It provides excellent value for the price paid.
Puntos a favor:
Benefits to using Gusto:- Ease of use, both for employer and employees.- Employees can clock in and clock out using an app on their smartphone. My employees comment on how much they like this compared to other time tracking systems they have used as past employers.- I was able to easily connect my CPA in with Gusto so he can monitor tax and accounting items.- Gusto automates the employee onboarding process, making the whole process a lot easier than it would otherwise be.- Bottom line: the product works well, is intuitive to use, and is efficient.
Contras:
Gusto's ability to work seamlessly with 401k contributions is limited. I have to manually send our financial advisor the 401k contribution information for employee elective deferrals. Not the end of the world and certainly not a deal-killer, but it is a mild inconvenience.
Alternativas consideradas:
Payroll done simple enough for ANY staff member.
Comentarios: Gusto is extremely helpful and efficient. My team enjoys the "social media" aspect of it, where new hires are introduced to the team before they even begin working. It goes a long way towards building a team. I would highly recommend Gusto to any small business trying to manage their staff. Onboarding is a breeze and gets the employees involved in their own financial matters. Even the least tech savvy person should be easily capable of following the necessary steps to be hired, paid, etc.
Puntos a favor:
Employees are able to punch in and out using anything with an internet connection. Additionally, you can turn on Geolocation so that you can ensure the employee is actually on-site when they punch in & out. Best yet, they can actually leave notes in regards to what tasks were completed for the day. It's very helpful to have this built-in tracking feature for accountability with my very small staff.
Contras:
Unfortunately, there is no effective scheduling tool (at least in my opinion), which forces me to go to another software provider for employee scheduling. Ideally, both scheduling and payroll could be done through the same web based software. This would also make it easier to compare scheduled vs. actually worked hours.
Payroll and Benefits Management with Gusto
Comentarios: Payroll, benefits, HR 401(k), and performance reviews may all be handled in a single convenient location. Gusto has helped me and my staff to be more productive with our time and to feel appreciated.
Puntos a favor:
Friendly interface. Staff-friendly time and absence tracking and benefit administration tools. Human resources and 401(k)s work better together than ever. The price is reasonable for us.
Contras:
Payroll blocks caused by a lack of State tax information can be inconvenient, as it requires contacting Gusto to request an extension until the necessary tax data is provided. Perhaps there's an easier method to simply hit a button and have the block lengthened.
Alternativas consideradas:
Better than nothing
Comentarios: I am disappointed. I though I was getting a first tier payroll software with faster turnaround for less money. I got a lees than complete feature set with hit or miss service.
Puntos a favor:
It is easy to use and set up. It is much more straightforward than many of its competitors. Onboarding was mostly drama free.
Contras:
The system is not as robust and feature rich as its key top tier competitors like QB or ADP. Once we started using it we found features missing that we took for granted would be there. One of the key things that made us choose Gusto was the ability to give our staff direct deposit payments next day. In practice the design of the system makes that impossible for us. We discovered a glitch in the system that prevented us from properly reporting overtime in our state. Gusto was unable to find what was wrong or give us a workaround, We found one ourselves minutes from our payroll deadline. Customer support is erratic, with some folks providing helpful and timely support while others are not significantly better than us guessing . We kept getting routed to our designated representative when all we needed was a simple question to be answered. The time it took to locate and hook up with our rep was longer then it took to get an answer. Pro tip to customer support: If you don't know the answer, dont send me a link to some general background topic. It does not help.

It's like someone was listening to me complain about Quickbooks payroll and ADP (and Tsheets) and made a software just for me. It's so simple - I was using an accountant to run payroll through ADP - Gusto saves so much time I can do it myself.
Contras:
The reporting tools aren't super robust.
