What I like least about AVG internet security business edition is the price was a little high. But compared to other antivirus softwares it was a good price so I really didn't mind considering how well it protected my computer and information.

Comentarios: AVG was a must-have back in the earlier days of the Internet, where built in antivirus protection didn't exist. Nowadays, I feel AVG will have to put a lot of work into improving their virus detection strategy to use less resources.

As an anti-virus software, AVG works well at its job. AVG has saved me from downloading/executing malicious content a couple of times years back, which saved me a lot of headache.

While AVG was a powerful anti-virus software in the 2000s to early 2010s, today most modern operating systems come with their own anti-virus protection. The most compelling reason to use built-in antivirus software is the level of optimization. I have found that AVG would occasionally suck up all my PC's resources to perform scans, which caused me a lot of frustration. This makes the performance to protection tradeoff extremely hard to justify. I think if AVG would be able to optimize their program to require less resources than Windows Defender, it would be significantly easier for me to recommend.

Comentarios: We tried to use the product so that all of our workstations would have a standardized antivirus that was updated and could not be bypassed. It worked correctly when I installed it originally, but gradually stopped working over the years, and finally, allowed a catastrophic virus to be executed on a system and spread throughout our network.

I could make sure that all workstations had the latest updates fairly easily in the Admin Console, as well as install it on a new workstation from there sometimes. It did a reasonably good job of preventing viruses, although the cost of that protection was pretty high in system resources, administrative time, and money.

Contras:

It let an encryption ransomware .exe file run on a protected workstation which did a tremendous amount of damage before I realized it was there. I had a cloud backup from which I was able to restore everything, but it took days to get the encrypted backups removed (it was on "continuous" backup, so as the virus changed files, they were backed up) and the good data restored. Also, as OS software was updated over the years we used it, I had to repeatedly change network and firewall settings to allow the Admin Console to see all the workstations and to push software. In the end, I believe there were still two machines that could not be reached through the Admin Console, even though I followed the instructions posted on the AVG website.

Best (free) antivirus

Comentarios: I was really very satisfied with this product. Initially, I used the free version which was satisfactory, but later I switched to Full protection, which totally changed my experienced and I'm in love with AVG. Better protection to your device without losing your device's speed, what else do we need?

AVG has a free version which is very good if you want to try using it. Its installation is also very easy and user-friendly. If you are satisfied, you can move to full security which has the best all-around protection for all your devices. The best thing about AVG which I really love is, it has low memory use so it doesn't slow down your computer/device while scanning.

Contras:

AVG's free version enables only basic protection which is very common. Settings are a little more complicated. Sometimes it detects the .exe file as a virus which creates problems in installation.

It does the job

The AVG internet security business edition is remarkably simple and easy to use. It has definitely been more user friendly throughout the years. It is seriously straight to the point. I use the business edition for my job, which is a small office of approximately 15 people or so. We have so much spam mail coming in and this software has helped us quickly scan emails and have a layer in Firewall protection.

Contras:

There isn't much to complain about or not to dislike about the Avg company. Afterall, they have been around for so long. Pricing could be better. But then again, we all want a bargain.

Comentarios: Overall, I have mixed feelings about AVG. On one hand we haven't had any breeches of data and on the other hand it has made life difficult every time there is an update making sure we have the exceptions set properly to allow our software to work properly. You would think for the price you have to pay they would account for such things but they simply don't.

The software locks down your system a little too well. We use other software that requires a hardware key that has to constantly connect to the company to prevent piracy. The AVG software updated and started blocking all the authentications for our software and we lost a whole day and a half of production because we couldn't get it to communicate because AVG kept blocking it. Customer service kept playing the blame game saying it was the other company who was responsible.

Obviously, the fact that it is free for personal use is a big plus. But it is my go-to (in tandem with Malwarebytes) to clean up any infected computer. It's never failed me to this point.

Contras:

This is probably a little nitpicky, since they are a for-profit company, but they tend to oversell the upgrades if you use the free version. Not to say that they aren't worthwhile, but if you only want to be able to scan your machine for viruses periodically it can get to be a bit much.
